Coming back to classification, histopathology classification is dependent on light microscopy of biopsy specimen. Three quarter of all breast cancers broadly come from this classification. When they talk about grading in the breast cancer, the similarity in normal cells to cancer cells in microscopic studies is seen. It basically is derived from the cellular appearance of the tumor cells. Staging on the other hand, is a procedure, in which it is located that how much cancer is present inside the body and where it is located. The real purpose of staging is to locate how much a person or patient is severely attacked by the tumor or cancer. Receptor status on the other hand has been identified by IHC which stains the cells based on the presence of estrogen receptors progesterone receptors and HER2. It is used as the most common procedure to find out about receptors’ status in a breast cancer patient.

However, DNA multi-gene expression profiles are also used to categorize breast cancers into molecular subtypes and it will generally correspond to IHC receptor status. Another classification is traditional DNA classification, in which general observations as made as, the division of cells more rapidly than the usual speed.
