Breast cancer is the most common disease in women around the world and there are various misapprehensions related to the disease. Breast cancer facts guide patients about the truth about disease. Usually people think that a lump of breast means that the person is suffering from cancer. A lump on breast doesn’t always signifies breast cancer

In the menstrual cycle of women they usually face these kinds of lumps which are mistakenly categorized as cancerous. Breast size has nothing to do with breast cancer

In some parts of the world people often relate the size of breast with cancer. In reality breast size is not related to breast cancer and women with diverse breast sizes are affected from the disease.

Breast cancer is not a hereditary disease   


Breast cancer is a disease which is least related with inheritance. Only about 10% of the total reported cases of cancer are caused due to prior family history. Otherwise the causative agents and risk factors of breast cancer are entirely unique and independent from the family history. Most of the breast cancer cases are not caused due to the history of disease in the immediate family.

Probability of Breast cancer in Men


Usually it is thought that breast cancer is a disease related to women. The high probability of this disease in women is a truth but men also have chances to get the disease. The overall ratio of breast cancer of women is in thousands whether in men it’s in hundreds.

The likelihood of breast cancer is related to the age

The risk factor of breast cancer is relatively very high in at old age. Till the age of twenty nine the chances of getting breast cancer are one in two thousand. In contrast at the age of above sixties the probability increases up to one in every thirteen women.

Breast cancer society is widely spread in the world and the probability of disease is much higher in women. Along with increasing awareness about the disease there arise some misconceptions. These misconceptions lead to the development of different superstitions regarding breast cancer. Breast cancer facts demonstrate people about the correct information regarding the disease. Breast cancer patients are advised to do a comprehensive research for knowing about breast cancer facts. They will help the patient to proceed in the right direction whether it is related to the diagnosis or treatment of the disease.
